How to Make a Stretchy Cord Bracelet
1)
Use measuring tape to measure your wrist. Add 1” to this measurement.
This will be the finished length of your bracelet.
2)
Select beads for bracelet. Find a bead with a large hole to use on the end of bracelet. The knot
that
is made to finish the bracelet will be pulled into this bead.
3)
Arrange the beads in the groove of the
bead holder using inch length of
bracelet. Bead with large hole.
4)
Use a piece of thick stretchy
cord 4” longer than the finished length
of bracelet. If using
thin cord use
multiple strands.
5)
Tie end bead on to end of
cord using a
temporary knot to keep
beads from sliding off while
stringing, then string beads
onto cord.
6)
After stringing beads, check the length
by wrapping around your wrist.
Untie temporary knot. Tie both ends
together using a square knot. The knot
should be tight, but do not tighten
the cord as the bracelet will need to be able to stretch. Square Knot
Tie one simple overhand knot after the
square knot. This knot is similar to temporary knot shown above.
7)
Clip the end to ¼”. Slide knot inside bead with large hole to hide the knot.
8)
Your bracelet is now ready to wear. |
